My abstract paintings are ideas that are abstracted on to a flat surface. Each depicts a statement or theme. Whether about global warming, urban blight, relationships, stress, the beauty of a forest or a city that lies on three rivers. Most of these are acrylic and pastel on canvas...some are watercolor, pastel on canvas, and a few, watercolor on paper. Doing abstracts allows me as an artist to experiment with line, shape and color. It often seems that the painting creates itself with a little help from me.
